About us:
---What do we specialize in? We are most known in the community for the great fundraisers wehave such as our annual Pork Chop & Corn Feed and our Rose sale.
As a result of the success of the fundraisers we are also known for the support we give to local non-profits and youth groups. ---Do we have fun? Oh yes! There is always a lot of joking and ribbing that goes on between members at our weekly meetings. ---What kind of goals do we have? To increase our service projects, both locally and internationally ---How many members do we have We have about 80 members ---What projects are we working on We are planning a January 2007 service trip to Guatemala where local Rotarians will install 40 stoves for 20 families. The project will be helping children who were suffering respiratory problems and accidental burns as a result of open wood fires in their homes. The stoves we will be installing are the indoor plancha stove which is used for cooking tortillas, etc. In addition, each family will get an outdoor nixtamal stove which is used for cooking large pots of soup, corn, etc. Both use firewood as fuel but are more fuel-efficient than the open fires, thus saving valuable natural resources. ![]() |
